Ember Drops Mug 4
Fired in a wood kiln four consecutive days, this mug was decorated with a wax-resist technique that reveals the bare, flashing clay body beneath. The waxed areas preserve the raw clay design producing lively, layered flashes of color and texture. The piece is finished with a shino glaze that pools and creeps over the flashing clay, adding warm, creamy whites and subtle iron-driven variations. The result is a mug with a tactile, organic surface—contrasting smooth, glossy shino with the earthy, smoky character of the revealed clay.
3.5 × 4.5 × 4”
