My work begins with clay and ends in the unpredictability of a wood kiln. I’m drawn to meticulous surface treatment. Layers of slip, intricate lines, and deliberate textures that embellish the forms I create. There is something cathartic in obsessing over these details, then surrendering them to a firing process I cannot control. The final outcome depends entirely on airflow, flame, and ash, and that partnership between precision and chaos is what keeps me returning to the studio.

Nature, the outdoors, and the subtle patterns around me guide my process, informing the textures and rhythms I translate into each form. Every piece becomes a small capsule of that inspiration. In exploring the balance between careful design and natural spontaneity, I’m always asking how a ceramic object can carry the spirit of nature into daily life. Each vessel becomes my answer—holding both my hand and the wildness that shaped it.
